I love Christmas music! As a Jewish kid growing up, it always felt a bit like forbidden fruit (oddly, for such sweet and inoffensive songs.) It’s genuinely magical that for one month every year, we all listen to the same staples, well-worn like an old sweater. Every one of these songs glows with a special ineffable something from decades of collective unconscious listening, including the heartbreaking “Baby Please Come Home” and the intoxicating “Fairytale Of New York.”
