This one’s about half a challenge room - there are certainly passages that are not for the faint of heart. Tool is famous for their sick sense of humor, and their sneering “Eulogy” kicks off an acidly funny set; all these bands enjoy the slip-and-punch combo of screwing with your head, then knocking you out with heaviness. Swans alternate between hushed chants and apocalyptic swells on “Little God.” Mr Bungle takes you on a vomit-soaked carnival ride, while Meshuggah’s infernal drum hits are a deep tissue massage for your cortex.
