Some of the greatest voices in rap can be found on this elbow-throwing set. Nicki and Wayne are expert chameleons, with arsenals of flows, energy levels and funny voices that can fit any beat. Eminem at his best is even more versatile; represented here are goofy Slim Shady (“My Name Is”), earnest & inspirational Marshall (“Lose Yourself”), technical showoff Em (“Rap God”) and accidental prophet (the terrifying, timely “Stan”). DMX has none of that versatility but is a blunt force nonpareil; when he shouts “I’m not a nice person!”, you might reflexively laugh, but you believe it.
