Chapter 6: Allegretto

Romantic & classical

Something to remember when listening to this sampler of 19th century classical music: an orchestra is LOUD. “Ride Of The Valkyries” is meant to be heard as an enveloping gale of sound. Instead of letting “Moonlight Sonata” quietly soundtrack your nice dinner party, picture a nearly deaf Beethoven screaming at you to crank it up to full volume. Here composers with the ear of kings go grandiose, with emotion that can barely be contained.
