Agape in Greek means “a universal, unconditional love,” an apropos title for this especially romantic collection of modern movie scores. “House Of Woodcock” rises and falls with the seasick allure of a new crush, while selections from the Lord Of The Rings and Grand Budapest Hotel soundtracks are sentimental for old worlds that never existed. Even the overused “Lux Aeterna” is beautiful in its bleakness. Of course, there’s not much you’d call romantic in “Duel Of The Fates,” but the twists and turns of this demonic melee will leave you agape.
